Cognitive Dissonance

By Matt Bruce

History repeats,
New martyrs it’s cause,

Shaded elites,
Minds shift by newborn claws,

Feigned crush on a virgin sky,
Nothing left in anyone’s eyes,

Blood sipped scores who cried,
Image of truth conceives the lie,

Love like acid,
Faith seems vapid,
No exits left on the seal,

Too much life has happened,
Take of the human trappings,
Any one statement can’t be real,

Time to breed in between,
Life accepted to relate,

Another day once unseen,
Spouts another rumor of hate,

Life lives itself,
Witness those who bought the cake,

Wisdom ruptures carnal disdain,
Where there’s truly nothing at stake,

One hundred years on arrival,
Vague chance for survival,
Most ears to the trees,

Poison death where liable,
Day X of the news cycle,
Yet to explain…

We are the disease…

My education started after I left school.
I have never showcased my work beyond sharing with a couple friends when the mood strikes.
