Nouvelle/Nouveau

By Matt Bruce

Convene to the darkness and bitter pool,
Blank stare and coarse dead eyes,

Staged allegiance to the latest new,
Found nestled in a fine layer of
surprise,

Exchange of disease and broken image,
Lost friends from the passionate heir,

Pride and feigned effort blank the light of day,
Down an
empty road into a silent night,

Time eroded empathy to a puddle,
Drained from the neck of vicious apathy,

A sacrificial Lam of lost presentation,

Shade stirs the breaks of breath to capture me,

Wise beyond the shade of desperate dismay,
Longed to be secured by chemical order,

Watched as the
embers coiled and strained,
Ready to stand in the crowd as another mourner...

I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia
My education started after I left school.
I have never showcased my work beyond sharing with a couple friends when the mood strikes.
