The abundance of abandoned asylums and psychiatric hospitals in the New England area create the bulk of the locations here; these beautiful state funded structures are vast and complex, giving insight to both the humanity and mistreatment towards the mentally ill over the past two centuries. I have an interest in both psychiatry/psychology (and of course, paranormal activity), particularly in the methods used over the past two centuries, to "cure" the mentally ill. Its really sad and unfortunate that these buildings have been or possibly will be torn down. After Life paranormal Society is investigating trans allegheny in september. It's a horrible fact that these places and the Dr. running them knew little about the disease they were treating, so by not understanding it they did what they "thought" was best and that was to torture the sickness out of them.
Set back on either side of the Administration Building were the North and South A ward buildings, which were only two stories high, and meant to house fifty-two patients each.
