For the record, my companion was sitting in the next seat Row E, Seat 19 which is far inferior because the pillar is closer to the middle of your view which is infuriating as you end up with a stiff neck having spent the duration of the show dodging the column! I was impressed by a number of staff helping those audience members who had a disability to enjoy the experience. The show was glorious and it was 2.5 hours of utter joyous entertainment, the cast and musicians were simply amazing and would thoroughly recommend this play/musical to anyone, 6 star quality entertainment!. Beware, at the moment the theatre is refurbishing. I sat in the Dress Circle and the view and sound was excellent. If your in London between now and the end of March make sure you see this excellent production.

The view is good as is the sound quality but you are HIGH up! The Old Vic: Avoid these Seats! We were in seats Y28 & 29 at the performance on 20/05. A very elderly lady really struggled and like me had to just leave her legs dangling. By chance there was also a conversation with the two leading players in the afternoon of the performance, of which the Old Vic emailed me details, so we got to be "up close and personal" with them before seeing the show! Y9 and 10.We bought tickets 6 months ago and didn’t mind that they were slip seats in the dress circle.
You can see all the stage, and the performance I saw was done in the round.

The play was very good.
That same velvet bar blocks everyone in the whole rows view. It's the 2nd seat in from the end of the row on the curve, RH side. The Old Vic is an impressive theatre. Registered offices: 103 The Cut, London, SE1 8NB The main reason is that the rake is excellent and the seats are staggered which all helps to eliminate "tall head syndrome" from the row in front. Despite this being the back row I had a really good view of the stage and acoustics were good too. Also way too hot. great use of revolving stage and circular seating plan. Not seats...chairs...or more like uncomfortable bar stools to be honest.
3667822. Yes, some of the old charm has been lost however the theatre is much more functional and this makes for a better experience.
The seats are stage right 2nd row and for this play, we saw little of what was going on as a lot of the action took place, particularly towards the end. Lilian Baylis Circle A33. This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

The seat I found to be comfortable and reasonably roomy for my average 5 foot 6 inch frame and the legroom was good but not overly generous either! Legroom is very tight. Like all of the older theatres, they could use more stalls in the ladies room. Fine seat, good view, but could be problematic if someone tall sits in front of you. The main reason is that the rake is excellent and the seats are staggered which all helps to eliminate "tall head syndrome" from the row in front.
The theatre is beautiful in the old traditional style - decorative but also practical. I've been to a lot of London theatres and this is one of the best. All round a great production.A delightful theatre, I look forward to the completion of the renovations this September.
